Dear WSNO Community,

The summer is moving along, and the first day of school is going to be here before we know it. All of us here at WSNO are looking forward to seeing your child's smiling face. As we prepare for the start of the school year, there are important things you can do to prepare as well.

Upload your child's physical and vaccination records to TADS before the first day of school. Keeping these records up to date throughout the school year is going to be of critical importance, now more than ever. We need your help in ensuring your child's records are on file with us are kept current. This is an important part of keeping all of our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy.

What if my child's wellness check isn't until later in the school year?

This is a common issue with a simple solution. Please upload your child's most up-to-date physical and immunization records. (If you have lost your copy, contact your child's doctor to get a new copy.) Then upload the new ones after your child's next wellness check.

As a reminder, here is our Immunization policy, which you may find in our Family Handbook:

In accordance with the Law of the State of Louisiana, Waldorf School of New Orleans requires that all children beginning school be vaccinated according to state guidelines, and that all children at approximately 6th grade receive the appropriate vaccinations or booster shots.

Exemptions may be made for medical, religious, or philosophical reasons. However, either vaccination records or exemption forms for each student must be on file with the school in order for a student to attend class and updated annually. Children under the age of 8 are to be kept home for 24 hours after all vaccinations. Forms may not be the most exciting topic, but they're an important part of how we keep our school a safe place to be. Thank you for helping us put this piece of the puzzle in place.

In Partnership,

Joseph E. Peychaud Head of School
